Barbara Radcliffe Rogers/Stillman Rogers Stillman (Tim) and Barbara Rogers spent their honeymoon in the Atlantic Provinces and have been returning ever since to camp, hike, kayak and play in the snow.
Barbara and Tim have written books about African safaris, the Galapagos Islands, Portugal, exploring the rivers and seas of Europe, and their native New England. Their magazine and newspaper columns have described climbing a volcano on the back of a camel, canoeing the Potomac River, piloting a houseboat on England's canals, learning to drive a dog team, and searching remote islands of Japan for hot springs. Exotic, to the Rogerses, is all in your perspective. They find a lion in the African bush no more exciting than being in the middle of a caribou herd in Newfoundland or looking a Fundy whale straight in the eye. Adventure is where you find it, and they find plenty in eastern Canada.

Barry Boyce Barry Boyce has a graduate degree in physiological psychology (brain
research, specifically how the brain functions during the learning process).
Although he drifted out of the academic community and spent over 15 years in
technical marketing, natural history (especially of the Galapagos), has been
a constant outside interest. In 1989, Barry had the opportunity to sell his
portion of a technical manufacturing firm, which then capitalized his plans
for the Galapagos Travel writing, publishing and tour operations. his book,
A Traveler's Guide to the Galapagos Islands, was written out of a
perceived necessity. While there are several other books on the Galapagos,
they are either of the coffee-table or descriptive variety. Boyce's book is
the only one written from the traveler's perspective - "Tell me everything I
need to know about getting there, including all the various touring options,
what to bring, etc." Thus, what Boyce did was to write the first "How To"
travel guide to the islands.

Blair Howard Blair Howard was bitten by the travel bug more than 30 years ago when,
during a stint in the Royal Air Force, he spent a year in paradise on a tiny
island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. From there, his travels have taken
him to the Far East, North Africa, across most of Europe, to the islands of
the West Indies, the Bahamas, Bermuda and to almost every state in the
Union. With camera in hand, he wandered from one location to another,
finally settling in a small rural town in Tennessee. But there's no cure for
wanderlust. Today, after many miles on the road - and some 260 magazine
articles and nine books - he's still at it, visiting and revisiting his
favorite spots.

Chelle Koster Walton My relationship with adventure began when I jumped out of an airplane at 3,000 feet while in college. My relationship with Florida began also in college - on spring break. After kicking around the Caribbean awhile, I moved sight unseen to Sanibel Island. I spent days in the sun, nights working at McT's Shrimp House, back when it was a family-run place. I learned to scuba dive and got to pet a manatee. Eventually, I moved towards my goal to be a travel writer. I became contributing editor for Caribbean Travel & Life magazine. I am fascinated by Caribbean culture, and much of my writing focuses on the islands' art, music, food, festivals, and customs.
My Caribbean research culminated in a book, Caribbean Ways: A Culture Guide. I later wrote Florida guidebooks: The Gulf Coast of Florida Book, Florida Island Hopping, Frommer's Best Beach vacations: Florida, and Florida Family Adventure Guide.
When I lived in Minnesota, I used to say: "How can my ship come in when I'm so far from the water?" Now I'm surrounded by sea, and I'm riding that ship on an adventure called life.

Larry H. Ludmer Larry has had a 30-year romance with travel. The scenic wonders of the American West are among his favorite places. Before he began writing, he used other travel guides and found them to be unsatisfactory. He found this to be especially true of the most popular series, such as Fodor's, which has page after page on how to pack your suitcase but little "hard" sightseeing information. "I always thought that I could do better," says Ludmer, "so I decided to begin writing my own guides." He is now the author of 10 titles, with more in the planning stage. Larry's association with Hunter Publishing goes back to 1992 when he wrote the first edition of The Great American Wilderness: Touring America's National Parks. One of his other books, Cruising Alaska: A Passenger's Guide to the Ports of Call has been a popular title from the outset and is now in its fifth edition.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Larry lived for some time in New Jersey
before he could no longer resist the pull to head West. He now resides in
Henderson, Nevada.

Laura & Diane Rapp Laura Rapp While in school, Laura decided she wanted a career that
allowed her to travel. She focused her education on Hotel/Restaurant
Management and, upon graduating from Florida International University, took
a position as Purser with a major cruise line covering the Caribbean.
Answering the same questions about what to do on the islands again and again
was a challenge, but she was undaunted. She explored the islands in her time
off, and compiled an informative book containing ferry schedules, brochures
and other useful information. Passengers benefitted from her
efforts!
Diane Rapp Diane has been a small business owner
for so many years that she is "hardcore unemployable."She first used her
writing skills as a cure for her insomnia, but began to take it more
seriously when her friends had such a positive reaction to her work. When
Laura's idea for a cruising guide became a reality, Diane agreed to help
research and write the book.
The schedule was arduous. (And no...
relaxing in the sun and drinking cocktails at four o'clock was not on their
list of things to do!) This mother-and-daughter team developed a strong
relationship while developing the book, getting to know each other afresh as
co-workers and friends.

Marissa Fabris Marissa Fabris earliest Italian lessons came long before she was able to identify Italy on a globe, but it didnt take long for her compass to guide her toward all things Italian.
She first landed in Italy as an impressionable teenager on a study-abroad adventure and returned several times before she discovered the Veneto while accompanying her future husband on a trip to his familys hometown of Bassano del Grappa. Studying Italian and publishing led Marissa to work abroad as an interpreter, counselor, language teacher, journalist, author, speechwriter and editor. While living in Europe, she was able to discover many remote corners of Italy and the Veneto.
Marissa is an avid traveler who has been sharing her travel tales in some form for nearly a decade. Prior to writing her first travel guidebook, her work, including several articles on Northern Italy, appeared in various European publications.

Sharon Hamblin In 1990, Sharon Hamblin got her first taste of travel when she went to Europe for a traditional
coming-of-age backpacking trip across the continent. From then on, its been nonstop travel for the
California-born writer, who until recently, called Hawaii her home base. While working as a
waitress/restaurant manager in Kauai for 12 years, Hamblin continued to travel to exotic places starting
with a yearlong visit to New Zealand and Australia. Connections that she met in Sydney, Australia brought
her back to the country three more times for house-sitting stints. Between trips to Australia and
working in Hawaii, Hamblin traveled to Bali, Indonesia twice and back to Europe (mostly Paris) twice. The
frequent flier miles really added up with several trips to California and many trips to other Hawaiian
Islands. Over the years, she has written several freelance magazine and web-site articles about Hawaii,
food and wine, entertaining and smart traveling. Her first book, the Adventure Guide to Maui, was published
in 2006 and her next book, Adventure Guide to Honolulu, Waikiki & Oahu, is slated to be published in Fall
2008. She is currently working on a second edition of the Maui guide and has relocated to Northern California. Any plans to travel have been slightly hindered by the purchase of a miniature schnauzer puppy named Buttercup, but Hamblin still has an ongoing list of the places she wants to visit!

Vivien Lougheed Vivien Lougheed started wandering at age nine, when she got her first bicycle. At 16, she discovered Greyhound, and took a trip from Winnipeg to Jasper, the farthest point she could afford at the time. That first view of the Rockies stuck with her, and hiking became a
passion, mountains a major destination. She moved to Prince George so she could be closer to the Rockies. In the early 80s she started to see the world; China, the Mediterranean, Central America, Africa and the Himalayas of Tibet, Nepal and Pakistan.
In 1986 her first book, Central America by Chickenbus, was published. This
was followed by a regular column for the Prince George Citizen. Writing and
travel became a blend. Vivien started writing for magazines, "Chickenbus" went into its third edition and she wrote the Kluane National Park Hiking Guide, now in its second edition. A trip through the Chang Tang, a prohibited area of Tibet, led to Forbidden Mountains, her only story book. Hikes in the fabled Nahanni area of Canada's North West Territories resulted in her co-authoring Tungsten John, with her husband.
Presently, maps are forbidden - when Vivien sees one she is off again. She now
has writing deadlines to meet, deadlines that can't be completed on the road.
